John Stephen Pughe, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Henderson, Nevada, on December 24, 2024. Born on July 19, 1946, John graduated from Canoga High School in 1964. John lived a life full of love, adventure, and service.
A retired bartender, John proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married his loving wife, Cindy, December 12, 1981. He was a dedicated member of various organizations, including the 5th Infantry Regiment Association, Purple Hearts, VFW, DAV, Eagles, Kiwanis, Elks, and American Legion.
John's passions included golfing, spending time with friends and family, and traveling across the U.S., to Cancun, and the Hawaiian Islands. He had a deep love for books and a particular fondness for AMC war movies. Sundays were especially dear to him as he enjoyed visiting friends at the Emerald Island with his beloved wife, Cindy.
John will be remembered for his warm spirit, dedication to family, and unwavering commitment to his community. His lifelong friendships testify to his remarkable ability to make a lasting
impression on others. John leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Cindy; his cherished daughters, Brenda Durant-Pearlman and Fawn (husband, Dale Wilmarth); his beloved siblings, Lawrence Pughe (wife Sharon,) and Eugene Pughe. John was a proud grandfather to Linda Durant, Nicole Larsen, Garrett Wilmarth (wife Danielle,) and Noel (husband Justin Kennedy,) and a treasured great-grandfather to Jeremy and Jasmine Brandenburger, Ryder Larsen, Sonny and Wyatt Wilmarth.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Maxine Pughe, and his sister, Denise. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
We invite you to join us in celebrating the life of John Pughe, a loving and devoted husband, cherished son, father, grandfather, friend, and an inspiring presence in our lives. Your presence will mean a great deal as we come together to reflect on his legacy and support one another during time of remembrance. The memorial service for John Pughe will be Monday, January 13, 2025 at 11:00 am at Palm Eastern Mortuary. 7600 South Eastern Avenue Las Vegas, NV 89123. Following the service, at the same location, we invite you to join us for lunch from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm, where we can share memories and support one another in a warm and welcoming environment. Together, let us honor his memory and the lasting impact he made on all of us.
