On April 22, 1969, Company C was providing security to Route 7A. At 1300 hours, Company A was dispatched to assist a LRRP team that was in contact north of Cu Chi. At 1305 hours, Company B reported that they had one man killed (Medic) when a booby trapped 105mm artillery round was detonated. A general supply helicopter was requested to extract the Bobcat’s body from the scene.
