DETAILS
On February 08, 1967, the battalion commenced operations "in accordance with the rules governing the TET truce period." At 1035 hours Company A discovered VC bodies at WT 982666. 5 had been killed by small arms fire, 4 were in a bomb crater and 1 was in a covered bunker. At 1335 hours, Company B received 3 rounds of small arms fire. At 1540 hours, in the area of WT 010688, Company B received automatic weapons fire from an unknown number of VC. Fire was returned with organic weapons. One Bobcat from Company B was killed in the initial exchange of fire. All elements closed the battalion forward base for the night.
