DETAILS
On November 20, 1968, Company C continued securing Rome Plow operations in the area of Thai My, located along Highway 7A around XT 5415. During the morning the company located and destroyed some booby traps and 2 anti-tank mines. The Recon Platoon swept Highway 7A from Route 1 to the Company C night base location. Company B was working an area just northwest of Trung Lap. At 1000 hours, a booby trapped hand grenade located at XT 578228 detonated. One Bobcat was wounded. At 1145 hours, one Bobcat from Company B was killed by a booby trap explosion. A South Vietnamese Soldier was also killed in the explosion. Four Bobcats were wounded by the blast and dusted-off. After completing its sweep of the area, Company B returned to FSB Patton.
