Ron Soppe is home and is regaining his strength, hopefully he will be in Nashville soon for the Turkey Federation Convention. He was in a comma for several days, was without a heartbeat for almost 30 minutes but had CPR from a friend. They thought he might be brain dead but when he awoke and looked at me and said "what the hell are you doing here" I knew that those were the most wonderful words I had ever heard.

I have signed your guest book on behalf of my father, Richard Lane Hazel, who served in Company D, 5th infantry, Forts Preble and Mckinley, south Portland, Maine from 1930 to 1936. he continued to serve in the army making his way up to 1st LT. eventually, he was shipped to China during WWII and was MIA 1944 and declared KIA in 1945.

I'm putting out a call to anyone who was in Charlie Company in 1966. CPT Willis A. Blair was a platoon leader and then became company commander.
I have recently been in contact with his son, Stephen, who is a MSG in LRSD 1/297th Cav (ABN). LTC Blair is not doing too well these days, and is in a nursing facility, and Stephen would appreciate hearing from anyone who served with/under his father so he, Stephen, could learn a little about his dad's time with the 5th.
I'm sure anything anyone can tell him would be most appreciated.

If you were in B Company on 3/31/67 and were there that day when, LT Charles Dickey, Kenneth Breshears, Gary Schuler and John Todi were KIA, could you please email me or call me. Trying to help a few Bobcats who were wounded that day. God bless them all.
