Mr. and Mrs Adelbert F. Heppler receive medals from Brigadier General Albin F. Irzyk, Post Commander, Honoring their deceased son, Corporal James Howard Heppler. Corporal  Heppler was  awarded the Bronze Star with First and Second  Oak Leaf Clusters for heroism, the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Combat Infantry Badge. By the Government of South Vietnam he was awarded the Military Merit Medal and the Gallantry Cross with a Palm.
