These great postings would not be possible without the efforts of Randy, Jon Blickenstaff, and Ron Henry. Hope that all of my brothers and sisters enjoy a pleasant Easter, and we'll see you in Cleveland next month.

I was in Combat Support Company, 1st Bn. 5th Infantry Regiment from March 1975 - March 1978. We were in E Quad at Schofield Barracks, HI. I participated in Opration New Life with the Bobcats. Our Bn. Commander was LTC Ferguson, and the XO was MOH awardee Col. (then Maj.) Jack Jacobs.I have only located one other guy who served in the 1-5 INF back then!!

I just received this E mail from John Hershey. A Medic at the 12th Evac Hosp.
To All,
I was a medic with the 12th evac hospital at Cu Chi Vietnam in 1968 and I was present and on duty at his bedside when Guy Jones from Bravo company died 3/8/68 in the Post Op ward. He is actually the only patient (of hundreds) whom I remember by name, simply because he was pulled out under fire by a medic friend of mine, John MacIntosh, and a few days later Mac was in camp and asked about Guy.
I think I even remember him looking very like the picture on the Wall site, but a caveat: memory is not always accurate.
I'd be happy to answer questions, taking into to consderation the distance in time,. of course.
John Hershey.

Abe Cardenas: He's lost over 25 lbs since November because it hurts him to eat, they have him on a morphine patch for pain and a tube in his stomach to feed him. The doctors don't want to start chemo treatments until he gains weight and are trying to feed him 9,000 calories a day through the tube. When he does start chemo there will be over 35 treatments. It hurts Abe to talk on the phone so Cha Cha suggested we send cards, letters or email instead. Cha Cha said when he does talk it's usually about his buddies from Vietnam or in short conversations with his grandkids. He also says he wishes all of his Vietnam buddies would come see him.
Please keep him in your prayers.
